European Investment Fund Invests in Danish VC Firm

Nine Realms Venture to Use Funds to Support Climate Tech and Supply Chain Startups

The European Investment Fund (EIF) has signed a €50 million participation in Nine Realms Venture, a Danish venture capital firm focused on investing in climate tech and supply chain startups.

The investment is part of the EIF's venture capital and private equity investment programme, which aims to support the growth of innovative companies in Europe.

Nine Realms Venture was founded in 2020 by a team of experienced venture capitalists with a track record of investing in successful startups in the climate tech and supply chain sectors.

The firm has already invested in a number of startups in these sectors, including:

  • Circularise, a Dutch startup that provides software for tracking and managing circular supply chains.
  • Goodwings, a Swedish startup that develops sustainable aviation biofuels.
  • Mantis Vision, a Danish startup that provides computer vision solutions for the manufacturing and logistics industries.

The EIF's investment will allow Nine Realms Venture to continue to invest in early-stage startups in the climate tech and supply chain sectors.

The firm is also looking to expand its geographical reach, with plans to open offices in other European countries in the near future.

The investment in Nine Realms Venture is the latest in a series of investments by the EIF in climate tech and supply chain startups.

In recent years, the EIF has invested in a number of startups in these sectors, including:

  • Climeworks, a Swiss startup that develops technology to capture carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
  • Ineratec, a German startup that develops technology to produce hydrogen from renewable energy sources.
  • Smartvatten, a Swedish startup that provides smart water meters and analytics for commercial buildings.

The EIF's investments in climate tech and supply chain startups are part of the European Union's broader efforts to decarbonise the economy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
