Background
In response to community concerns, Central Bedfordshire Council has issued its first Closure Order.
Facts
* A shop in Leighton Buzzard was caught with over 1000 banned vapes on its premises. * Lincolnshire police and trading standards have also shut down seven stores across the county. * As part of Safer Action Business Week, the community team and trading standards have taken action. * Nearly half of the UK is aware of illicit tobacco and vapes, according to JTI Japan Tobacco International. * Enforcement officers from East Riding of Yorkshire Councils have cracked down on illicit tobacco and vapes. * It is illegal to sell vapes containing more than 2ml of e-liquid, but an estimated one-third of vapes sold in the UK exceed this limit.
