A ‘Perfect’ Weekend to Celebrate Duke History

Duke University will host a weekend of events to celebrate its history and the 20th anniversary of the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, April 21-23.A “Perfect” Weekend to Celebrate Duke University’s History
The weekend will feature a variety of events, including a keynote address by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David M. Kennedy; a panel discussion on the history of Duke basketball; and a screening of the documentary “Duke 91 & 92: Back to Back,” followed by a discussion with the filmmakers.The weekend will kick off on Friday, April 21, with a reception at the Nasher Museum of Art. On Saturday, April 22, the day will begin with a keynote address by Kennedy, the author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning book “Freedom from Fear: The American People in Depression and War, 1929-1945.”
In the afternoon, there will be a panel discussion on the history of Duke basketball, featuring former Duke players Jay Bilas, Grant Hill, and Shane Battier. The day will conclude with a screening of the documentary “Duke 91 & 92: Back to Back,” followed by a discussion with the filmmakers.
On Sunday, April 23, there will be a brunch at the Nasher Museum of Art, followed by a tour of the museum's collections. The weekend will conclude with a performance by the Duke University Chorale at Duke Chapel.
