Independence and Constitution
The People's Republic of Bangladesh declared independence from Pakistan on 26th March 1971. The first constitution was adopted in 1972 and amended in 2004.

Bangladesh, a name derived from the Bengali words "bangla" (Bengal) and "desh" (country), is a country located in South Asia.

The Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, known as "Gôṇôprôjātôntrī bānglādēsh shôrkār" in Bengali, is the central governing body.
Executive Body
The Cabinet of Bangladesh, referred to as "Bangladesher Mantrisabha" in Bengali, is the primary executive body within the People's Republic.
