Bears Legend Steve McMichael Enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame

At Home Ceremony Honors Battling Legend

Former Chicago Bears defensive tackle Steve McMichael received a special honor on Saturday as he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place at his home, as McMichael is battling ALS and is bedridden in the advanced stages of the disease.

McMichael, who spent 13 seasons with the Bears, is the seventh member of the 1985 Bears to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was introduced by Jarrett Payton, son of Bears Hall of Famer Walter Payton, whom McMichael called his "pseudo son." McMichael was diagnosed with ALS in 2021, and despite his health challenges, he was determined to attend the ceremony.

McMichael's induction is a testament to his outstanding career and the love and support that surrounds him. The ceremony was a moving and emotional event, as McMichael was surrounded by his loved ones, including his wife, children, and former teammates.
