Knicks Advance to Second Round with 118-115 Game 6 Victory Over 76ers
Brunson's 41 Points Lead New York to Series Win
Hart's Late Three-Pointer Seals the Deal
Jalen Brunson erupted for 41 points as the New York Knicks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 118-115 in Game 6 of their first-round playoff series on Thursday night. The victory sends the Knicks to the second round, where they will face the Atlanta Hawks.
Despite trailing by 35 points at one point in Game 5, the Knicks battled back to force overtime. However, Tyrese Maxey's heroics in the closing seconds kept Philadelphia's season alive.
In Game 6, it was all about Brunson. The point guard hit 15-of-25 shots from the field, including 6-of-10 from three-point range. He also added 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
Josh Hart provided a crucial spark off the bench for the Knicks. The forward scored 11 points and hit a go-ahead three-pointer from the top of the arc with 244 seconds remaining.
The 76ers were led by Joel Embiid's 34 points and 11 rebounds. But it wasn't enough to overcome Brunson's brilliance and the Knicks' resilience.
The Knicks will now face the Hawks in the second round. The Hawks are coming off a 4-1 series victory over the Charlotte Hornets.
